Codes of Conduct

Protégé Management is a highly professional and ethical company. We place great value on our relationships with our clients and believe that these are built on trust, respect, integrity and continued delivery of high quality services.

We openly publish our code of ethics and will investigate any breaches of these by our associates, using our associated organisations as mediators where disputes that cannot be resolved by ourselves if neccessary.

Our Professional Code of Ethics

  • Always conduct themselves to the highest levels of ethics, integrity, accountability and responsibility.
  • Treat all clients and potential clients with absolute dignity, confidentiality and respect as free and equal individuals.
  • Respect the commercial confidentiality of Protégé Management Limited by not divulging business information to any third parties.
  • Maintain the good reputation of the coaching profession in general and Protégé Management Limited in particular.
  • Comply with both the spirit and the letter of any commercial agreements made with clients, potential clients, professional colleagues and Protégé Management Limited.
  • Make commercial agreements with clients and potential clients that are fair and will respect all parties to such agreements.
  • Represent true levels of status, title, competence and experience in order not to mislead, misrepresent or defraud.
  • Clearly state to clients and potential clients the terms of any commercial agreement including the expectations of both parties.
  • Make no claims or implications of outcomes that cannot be demonstrated or guaranteed.
  • Obtain written permission from any client or potential client before releasing their names as references.
  • Respect the absolute rights of the client's confidentiality except as expressly permitted by the client or potential client in writing or as required by law.
  • Recommend different coaches or resources when these will be more appropriate to the client's needs.
  • Avoid all conflicts of interest between clients.
  • Refrain from offering professional information or advice that you know to be confidential, misleading or where the accuracy is beyond your competence to assess.
  • Endeavour to enhance public understanding and acceptance of professional coaching.
  • Respect all copyrights, agreements, work, intellectual property and trademarks and comply with all laws covering such areas.
  • Comply with all laws and by-laws of the UK and, if coaching clients based abroad, with the laws of the clients' country.
  • Ensure that all advertisements and promotional materials, whether verbal or written, are legal, decent, truthful, honest and in compliance with the requirements of the UK Advertising Standards Authority.
  • Make a copy of this Code freely available to clients if they request it.
     

Code of Conduct - Institute of Business Consulting

All members of the Institute shall:

  • Conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the high standards and good reputation of professional Business Advisers and the Institute. They shall act with fairness and integrity to all persons with whom the work is connected and towards other members in compliance with the letter and the spirit of all current statutory and other legal requirements.
  • Maintain objective, professional standards and ensure that the legitimate interests of the client being advised are paramount in any recommendations and advice given.
  • Not act recklessly or maliciously injure or attempt to injure, whether directly or indirectly, the professional reputation of another person.
  • Have proper regard for the professional standards expected of a Business Adviser and shall not continue in work for which they are not competent without first obtaining such advice or assistance as is necessary to enable the work to be carried out competently.
  • Maintain professional independence at all times without control or influence from others and inform all interested parties in the event of any potential or current conflict of interest.
  • Ensure that any privileged information from a client or other relevant source in the course of an assignment is kept confidential in the absence of any public duty or legal obligation to disclose that information.
  • Where advice based on his/her skill and judgement is not accepted, take all reasonable steps to ensure that the person overruling or neglecting the advice is aware of any danger which the member believes may result from such overruling or neglect.
  • Not act in any way which contravenes the Codes of Conduct of any other professional bodies of which they are members and shall seek guidance from the bodies concerned should any potential conflict arise.
