PRESS RELEASE Mapping Your Way Through Personal Business TrainingMany new and early stage businesses need direction and a vision. To a large percentage of new businesses the development of a business plan is often regarded as something scary and complex which needs to be provided by specialist support. As part of its support for new and emerging businesses, The South East Hampshire Enterprise Gateway, headed up by Roopa Master-Coles, held its first event at the John Pound Centre in Portsmouth last week. ![]() Left to Right Roopa Master-Coles, SE Hampshire Enterprise Gateway Director with Paul Cooper & Karen Bladen of Territory Mapping Limited The course entitled ‘Picture This’ focuses on the visual aspects that most entrepreneurs have about running their own business – from where they want to be, to the lifestyle they hope to achieve as a result of it, all within a one-day training course. The technique is called Territory Mapping, delivered by a Portsmouth based company of the same name. It is particularly useful for people who find it difficult to put pen to paper in the traditional business world. Twenty-eight delegates, all with aspirations to start or grow new businesses, attended a day-long workshop, provided free of charge. Raj Choudhury, a founder member of the Enterprise Gateway from Hayling Island runs a graphic design business and was enthusiastic about the technique, “As a creative person I can completely relate to this way of visualising where I want to take my business. We might be young but we have high hopes of growth. In business you can often find it difficult to put down in words your aspirations and objectives. This method gives you a clear path way for the future.” ![]() Paul Cooper, MD of Territory Mapping Ltd (far right) with 'Picture This' delegates and their maps Commenting on the new initiative for start-up businesses, Roopa Master-Coles, South East Hampshire Gateway Director said: “This has been an amazing day and a great way to kick off the Gateway in Portsmouth and the surrounding area. We already have over 40 members in this area and the success of today has shown that there is a high demand for one-to-one business support and mentoring. The Territory Maps which have been created will become practical business tools for the future growth of these new and exciting businesses.” For more information about the South East Hampshire Enterprise Gateway, please contact Roopa Master Coles on 08454 586456 or by email at roopa@sehantsenterprisegateway.co.uk Information regarding Territory Mapping can be found at www.territory-mapping.com -- ENDS
